Daugavpils University, the second largest regional university in Latvia, has five faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Music and Art, and the Faculty of Education and Management. DU offers 54 bachelor, master, and doctoral study programmes. DU has extensive experience of international collaboration and has experience of collaborating in the FP projects. The researchers engaged in the proposed project are from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS), which has 30 research staff. The primary mission of the IHSS is to conduct high-quality interdisciplinary scientific and professional research in the field of social sciences andhumanities. It embraces the full range of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Based on its experience, the IHSS provides expertise for national and European policies that frame educational practices targeting young people’s cultural participation and inter-cultural learning. Researchers are involved in international leading research in a range of areas including cultural studies, sociology and education.
